my wonderful neighbor brought this lovely, beautiful, delicious-looking pie to us sunday evening.
and for the past two days, it's been staring me down and we've been having this constant dialogue:
pie: "come on, just do it. eat me. just one piece."
me: "no way."
pie: "nobody's here, no one will ever know."
me: "but i'll know."
pie: "so what? who cares? a little pie never hurt anyone . . ."
me: "but a whole pie? because that's how much i can eat of you."
pie: "that's okay. just do it. i can take it."
now, i'm no stranger to withstanding sugary temptation, but for some reason, this pie has singled me out and is seriously wanting to take me down. a few times i was so close to dumping the whole thing in the trash, but i couldn't get past the beautifulness of it! how could i dump such a work of pie art in the trash?
and josh? he's no help. that one piece that has been eaten? yeah, that's all he's eaten in the past two days! if i was not off sugar, that pie would have been devoured in about twenty minutes after it was delivered to it's final resting place. for sure.
i even had to call josh at school and tell him how mean that pie has been to me. i told him, "what do i do about this pie? it is seriously talking trash. can you please do something with it?"
he just laughed and said he'll do something with it . . . tomorrow. i don't have that much time! he could come home tomorrow and find me dead. death by pie. it could happen.
but do you know what keeps me strong? what exactly it is that helps me resist this awful temptation?
the fact that basically it comes down to the pie . . . or skinny jeans.
skinny jeans will always win.

Send it over my way...seriously.
i want to see you in skinny jeans. yep... the ashley simpson-wentz kind. i hope they're purple or red... like the ones you find at hot topic and wear with your favorite slipknot concert tee.
Hehe! You're cracking me up, Robin. I can completely sympathize. Jay and I have been trying to eat healthier but yesterday I forgot to eat breakfast and ending up buying a 2-pack of Hostess cupcakes while I was at Target. (Shhh, don't tell Jay!) :) BTW, thanks for your sweet comment on my blog the other day!
thanks for coming out about conversations with food. i have these old bananas in the freezer that have basically promised that all my wildest dreams will come true if i make them into chocolate b'na bread. and my skinny jeans? i think they're in some sort of hibernation as we haven't spoken in a long, long time. i sure miss those days when you & i would down whole pans of frosted brownies in one sitting... and not suffer for it. stupid consequences.
Robin you are so funny, and good for you to not eat sugar! I think I have had frosting for breakfast or lunch almost everyday this last week. I want your will power! Plus you could totally rock the skinny jeans just as you are.
You go Robina!
