friday was an unofficial "papa dave day". after delicious super tacos at super taqueria (we thought of you scott and kiana!), my dad took the girls to "wild things" (an animal sanctuary here in salinas). they got to see lions, tigers, monkeys, elephants and other such animals you don't see everyday. this was followed by an ice cream treat, of course.

after an afternoon of playing with papa dave, he took parker to a play, which is kind of a tradition of theirs. when we lived here, he would take parker to every play ariel (the local children's theater) put on. she absolutely loves going to plays with papa dave and she gets so excited. this was followed by another ice cream treat, of course.

saturday, grammy let us tag along with her to a quilt show in watsonville. it was rough (due to parker's previous late night out), but we made it through and parker was really excited about seeing pretty quilts and spending her two dollars on scraps of fabric.
also this week, i had three nights out with girlfriends . . . so i've been really spoiled. my mom has watched the kids for me as i've been galavanting about. (i would have said "my mom and dad" watched the kids for me, but everyone knows, grammy does all the work!)
and oh, the food!
along with super taqueria, i enjoyed chili-crusted chicken at tarpys (with laurie, molly, rachael, chelsea, melanie, and other fun friends), and seabass at a delicious little restaurant in carmel(with stacey and gang). it was so charming. plus, it's always fun to relive some awesome high school memories. . .
but our adventures are winding down. we leave on tuesday, so tomorrow's our last hurrah. i don't feel ready to go yet. i need more time . . . i'm not ready for the cold.

It's not too bad here...it was sunny yesterday. We also had subway yesterday. Does california have anything like subway...it's a fancy little sandwich shop here in ithaca. We can go when you get back. Hope you guys are having fun!!! We sat by Josh today in church - I think raleigh was envious that he got to sit in church all by himself.
We miss you already! Great blogs by the way - about your trip.
Maybe we'll just come to Ithaca!
You definitely were not here long enough! Please come back soon! Dinner was fun....and don't forget the 5 million lipsticks we tried on!
