some things are just meant to be...

...that is how i feel about our family and the ewings.  we just fit together.  we had an amazing thanksgiving week with them.  it was perfect.  josh and brady are practically the same person, and brooke and i had babies together so we're bonded for life.  and the boys!  oh, the boys!  they played together so sweet... it was magical.  and it wasn't just the boys.  macy and baby abe had a special bond that formed the instant they pulled up to our house.

we did all the usual florida things plus ate a lot and made lots and lots and lots of treats (oh, did we eat!)  brooke and i were both exhausted at the end of every day because we were really making the most of every minute.  the husbands went on their bike rides and made fun of us wife-folk's giggly ways. it was heaven.

here are the pictures (gathered from my camera, phone, and instagram) that in no way capture all the fun, all the memories, or me and brooke.  but we were there.  i promise.  (for more about us and our love story, see here and here.)

melt my heart.

look at them! born one day apart.

discussing angry birds.

and probably the best story of heroism and bravery ever.
brady saved eli's sunglasses from the jaws of a snapping (baby) alligator!  no joke!  i accidentally kicked eli's prized sunglasses into the swamp RIGHT BY AN ALLIGATOR!  brady in all his awesomeness rigged together this device and fished them out of the muck!  it was amazing! (as you can tell by my extensive use of exclamation points!)
abe is not happy about it but gosh darn it, we got our bench picture.

we saw this very alligator go all discovery-channel on us and rise out of the water and snap at a fish.  it made brooke and brady's florida trip complete
ah, the boys.  look at them looking like they're off to the races.  they loved being together again with their matching bikes.

after they left, parker was sad.

thanks brady, brooke, eli, and baby abe!  thank you for driving 15 hours and through the night to come see us and make us happy.  WE LOVE YOU GUYS!

it was the most perfect thanksgiving ever. thanks for, well, so many things, but especially for letting us totally wear out our welcome and for showing me the ropes when it comes to proper thanksgiving dinner preparation.
this comment would be so long if i said how many things i love about all the pictures.
how did we not get one at the movie???

again. it was perfect. sorry if i am a grumpy pregnant lady. 40 lbs will do that to anyone. i'll be lot's better next year.....right? NEXT YEAR?

i'm a little torn up about this post.
mostly because you saw an alligator, but also because my brooke-in-florida experience was ripped from my soul.

don't mind me if i package this up and put it in a cold, dark place.

Wow! It looks like you guys had a blast! By the way, I'm in Florida right now. But I don't remember which part of Florida you live in and we probably aren't that close. I'm in Crystal River. We'll be here until Wednesday.

man I've been waiting and hoping for this post! And I was a little scared you weren't going to post because you are such an instagram-er these days (no I don't instagram, Jared and I are on 2001ish flip phones). I'm so glad the Ewings got to visit you guys. I can just imagine all the fun that was had. It might be a little unacceptable that you didn't get one picture of the 2 of you! I love the pictures of Eli and Oliver - so darling.
I would love to hang out with you girls! Come visit Utah...at the same time....and we'll get Amy to come too. I can dream.

So fun! With all of the aligator sight seeing you do, you need to get yourself a badge and safari-ish looking hat to make you an official aligator hunter...because that is what aligator hunters wear you know...badges and safari-sh looking hats.
Please tell Parker that I LOVE her in glasses and braids! And I think Sawyer has chubbier legs than Ollie...how great!!
