"you're doing really well!"

well we did it.  we ate and shopped... and repeated.

my birthday wish came true and i visited brooke in d.c., and got to squeeze and love eli and baby abe.  (i love you too, brady.  but i showed that love by kicking you out of your bed for the weekend.)

it was so refreshing and fun to be with brooke.  we always have such a great time... even if we are in the hospital together, fresh from childbirth.  we love the same stuff, we wear the same clothes, we eat the same amount of food so no one feels more the pig, and our husbands are pretty much the same person (no, not in a sister wives way).

now, let's talk about food...
we ate here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and here, and here.  founding fathers was our favorite.  we went there on sunday morning and basically had ourselves a five-course breakfast.  no joke. beignets, thick-sliced bacon, steel-cut oatmeal, french toast, and waffles & fried chicken.  our waiter was amazed and  disgusted by us at the same time, and this post's title is a quote from him ... which had us in hysterics.

thanks brooke.  i want to live there.

and if you'll excuse me now, i have 12 pounds i need to go lose...

maybe no one will click on all the restaurant links.....'here' just makes it seem so innocent.

i was rolling laughing as i read this.
the amazed/disgusted part was my favorite.

we TRIED to be cultural. 2 museums. historic sights....
we drove past the capitol.

oh and thanks for not posting all the places our full selves still wanted to eat at. georgetown cupcake, dairy godmother....etc.

remember you are coming back in march.
eli wished you were here this morning to show you his new 'cool tricks'
so....come back?
please?

So I'm still amazed that a friend from high school and a friend from college wound up being essentially best friends. I mean, I knew Brooke way back in the Jr. High days. I have a shirt from our Church history trip after graduation with her face on it. And I witnessed your amazing transformation in 2001 when you basically gave away your entire wardrobe because you were too skinny to fit into any of it. And now you two are BFF's. So fun and so crazy at the same time. And since I know both of you, I can totally see why you get along so well.

Founding Fathers? I was looking for a Benjamin Franklin Burger or a Thomas Jefferson Quiche, but...Founding Farmers sounds better.

Yay for fun trips to play with girlfriends and D.C.? Hello?!? AMAZING!

So listen, you girls need to give yourselves credit, you did eat at one salad place. So that cancels out all the other stuff.

Also, I have decided that we should celebrate our own weight gain the same way that we celebrate a child's. For example, Anson was under weight at his last appointment and at his follow-up he gained a lb and 1/2 and we cheered! So cheers to eating cupcakes and getting muffin tops!

So glad you had fun!

what is it about you and i and our posts that center around food?

my friend teased me that ride the rockies was a cruise. we ate and sometimes rode our bikes.

your comment on my blog made me laugh...I promise it's not that I'm so righteous. More like I've always suffered from a guilty conscience. It's a horrible curse - especially when I'm HUGE pregnant and really don't want to go to church. oh! like now.

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose vacations and outings center around food. Even my Disneyland fantasies often include their amazing corndogs. And yes, I did click on every single "here."
