questions have arisen about our plans between now and when josh starts his job. well, we have plans. boy, do we have plans. i have dubbed it the "summer of dreams".
are you ready? take a deep breath...
josh graduates on may 30th and we will leave ithaca on june 2nd and drive to chicago and stay for a day and then drive on to south dakota and stay with our friend heather (who coincidentally went with josh to his junior prom) and be there for my birthday (the 6th) and see mount rushmore and then we'll drive on to rexburg, idaho for josh's family reunion which starts on the 14th and after that i will drive by myself to utah to spend time with aubry and to run that race (because i'm crazy) on the 18th and 19th and then josh will drive down from idaho with the kids and meet me in utah and from there i will take the kids and drive to california (starting on parker's birthday, the 20th) and josh will go with a couple friends and drive to seattle where he will begin his west coast bike ride all the way down to california (monterey bay area to be exact) for my family reunion which is on the weekend of july 8th and after my reunion we will set off on our way back across the country this time stopping in arizona to stay a couple days with my brother scott and his family and from there will will drive through amarillo, new orleans, and anywhere else we feel like visiting all before we end up in our new home boca raton, florida where josh will start his job august 2nd.
exhale. inhale. . .
meanwhile all of our stuff will be residing in a pod or something and will later be reunited with us in florida where we will hopefully have a place to live by then and in case you're wondering that is 6,406 miles in the car with four kids.
and breathe.
i've drawn you a helpful diagram . . .
i don't know whether to laugh or cry.

tori and dean just did this very trip, i think. with the guncles.
you should watch the season premiere for hints and tips.
sounds like a griswald family vacatio in the making! stop by gj on your way! hey, will you be in rexburg the 24th-25th? i'll be there! millhollow??
wow. WOW. i read that all really fast and it was actually kind of fun.
Wow, you have me beat. I thought we were crazy last year for driving from Arizona to Utah to California to Utah and then across the country to NY. With only two kids. Good luck with that!!!
HOLY MOLY! I'm not sure I could do that AND not eat sugar at the same time. You are super woman.
Really, this will be a summer you and your family will remember always. How exciting!
that does sound dreamy! i can't help but be a bit jealous . . . i've always wanted to drive across the country. but, i'm not sure i want to do it with 4 kids in tow! you are brave.
ok, so we all know josh got his DREAM JOB . . . i want to hear about it! what is it, where is it? spill the beans!!!
congrats on the job! what a bummer, I don't think our dates connect that we'll catch you in either Ithaca or Arizona. Your trip sounds like tons of fun, I wish we had had the nerve to trek it instead of just hopping on a plane.
Sounds great! I am so jealous! Jay is too low on the totem pole to get time off in the summer, so road trips will have to wait a few more years. That dang school thing prevents us from going other times in the year.
If you really want to make me jealous you will stop by the Laura Ingalls Wilder museum in DeSmet, South Dakota on your way.
OMGosh you are a hero. Wow!! I have one kido and I don't go farther than UT with her [unless we drive at night]. You are amazing!! Take LOTS of photos!!
summer of dreams...........you mean summer of nightmares........
just kidding you know! Can I come to boca raton? do they have boca burgers?
I guess this means that if I am listed in the blog as a stop over it is OFFICIAL. YEAH!
Unlike your broken promise from 2 years ago... It took me awhile to get over. :)
Cya soon!
Probably cry. But at least you won't have to pay rent for two whole months!! Just remind that to your children when they're clawing at the windows trying to get out of the car...I'm sure it will help.
Now seriously. This will be an unforgettable Summer for all of you! Enjoy!
oh! and I see the little arrows going through Nevada, could that possibly be along I-15?...if you need a potty stop, give a holler...or a bed...or a snack...or toys for your neglected children.
Right on!!!!! You are amazing!
wow, we've done that drive, only we rested two years before heading back.
...good luck with that, at least you're not in a moving truck.
