why didn't i get any of those genes?

i love having a crafty mom.
check out my mom's blog to see some of her latest projects.
(not that i'm at all excited about being the recipient of one of those projects . . . well, macy will be the recipient, but really, i'm excited for her.)

i had fun picking out the fabrics for macy's quilt with my mom while i was in california.  and picking out the fabrics is about as far as i go when it comes to quilting.  but even that i do very poorly compared to my mom, the quilting queen.  (she will hate that i said that).

she started a tradition with brooklyn (the first grandchild) of the third-birthday quilt.  (this is in addition to the baby quilts that each grandchild receives when they are born.)   i love the third-birthday quilt tradition!  i look forward to each of my kids' third birthdays and i'm always surprised at how fast those birthdays come.

this is parker's monkey quilt she got when she turned three . . .

so, go now, and peruse through the awesomeness that is my mom's craftiness.
