first field trip

tuesday was my first real adventure as a mom on a field trip!  we went downtown to a pizza place owned by the parents of one of parker's classmates.  it was fun but probably the coldest experience of my life.  it involved a lot of walking outside, waiting for the bus (outside), more walking outside, and being cold.  (we're having very cold temperatures this week. . . and seriously, i was chilled for the rest of the day . . .)

i loved seeing parker with her classmates and teachers.  but four hours with 15 four-year-olds and a long bus ride made me feel like my day was over when it was only noon.  geez louise, i don't know how teachers do it . . .

that night as i was leaving the girls' room after putting them to bed, parker said, "mom, i had fun with you today on my field trip."

well, that melted my heart and finally, i wasn't cold anymore . . .
