today, josh took the girls out to play in the snow (for the first time ever!) with our garage-sale-find sled. i'm not much of a go-out-in-the-snow type, so i'm glad josh is excited about all that, having grown up with snow and all. anyhow, the girls loved it (as we knew they would. . . it's that "idaho blood" in them) and had so much fun. oliver and i stayed inside. . . where it was warm.
a little while back, before the snow, when we would just talk about snow, parker said, "i'm gonna put my face in the snow and then i'm gonna have to wash it off."
i said, "snow's just frozen water. you won't really have to wash it off."
parker thought about that and replied, "no it's not frozen water. it's just flour."
that was funny.

I'm thrilled about the Idaho blood too. You can still get in on the fun. You just have hot cocoa ready for them when they come in! With marshmallows, of course!!!
Robin, i'm here to defend the native californians. If you choose to deal with the snow only when necessary (While walking to and from the nearest department store, for example) That's perfectly acceptable. Just because idahoans love our oceans doesn't mean we have to love their snow. Although, it sure is fun to shop for outerwear...
hey rob, its so funny to see your fam all bundled up. coats, furry stuff, gloves, where do you even buy that stuff? i'm jealous though, your holidays are gonna be so picturesque!
I remember when i was little I saw a bowl of flour and thought it was sugar and took a big mouthful of it. You don't forget things like that. The snow looks pretty, but I'm glad I got my visit done before it came.
Oh how fun!! You can see from their faces that it is cold outside but well worth it. The snow can be so fun for the little ones :}
