another post about summer, robin? YES! after california, we rented a minivan and drove to rexburg. ladle extravaganza 2012 was waiting for us.
before everyone arrived in rexburg, we did a little yellowstone camping trip. now, let me just say that i was opposed because i just knew a bear would eat us. but no, we were spared from bears. but not from barf. late at night sawyer threw up all over himself, josh, and most of the bedding. and then parker got sick, but she made it to the bathroom. yay! camping!
after that slight misstep, we made it back to rexburg for fun family times. it was the first time all of the siblings and cousins had ALL been together for four years, and it was amazing. there is nothing like idaho in the summer. it is my happy place. it is heaven. and the cousins... oh the cousins! all thirty-one of them. from seventeen all the way down to two-weeks old.
i love josh's family.

i call this "ferdinand the buffalo". |

it's all fun and games until someone throws up in the tent. |

this pretty much sums up our camping experience. |

camping gets a thumbs up! nope. |

one minute spent at old faithful, ninety minutes spent in the gift shop. |

That's our favorite snowcone shack on earth!! Pink lady with cream. Nom.
What a wonderful family you married into. I love the ladle's too.
I love the Ferdinand the Buffalo reference. Best book ever. (Ferdinand the Bull) Neece's favorite children's book.
Hooray for Yellowstone! I love that part of the country and the abundance of Huckleberry flavored treats. I seriously ate so much Huck ice-cream the summer I lived in J-Hole. :)
Barfing and bears are both things I fear big time. Glad ya'll made it out safely (albeit smelly.) :)
Robin I'm right there with you in regards to camping. There's a reason pillow-top mattresses were created. No need to regress to the 1800s when it comes to sleep.
What is it about beautiful Yellowstone? We had a family reunion there a couple of summers ago and by the end of the 4 days every single tent had been barfed in...and that was EIGHT of them! It was an epidemic and no family was spared. That picture of Oliver with sick Sawyer in the back is probably my favorite one EVER. And thank you for the kind words on my recent post. I hate it when people blog about what I've been meaning to blog about because then I feel like I can't write it anymore (but now I'm giving you permission to go ahead and publish yours anyway because I know you totally needed my permission since it's copywrited and all.)
wait. maybe the word's "copywritten." whatever.
I don't think I'll ever get over how beautiful Idaho is. And that tent pic of Oliver and Sawyer! Priceless.
This post is just too much goodness. I am dying over the Oliver/Sawyer tent picture. Literally dying. And the first picture? Stop it! Too beautiful!!
