ladle of love: oliver has the worst birthday

i know right now he doesn't know the difference, but i am sure as he gets older he'll be all, "mom, january 2nd is the WORST birthday! you're always cranky because the holidays are over and you've stopped eating sugar and you never want to throw me a birthday party because you're cranky and I HATE IT!" and then when he finds out i was induced and chose to have him on january 2nd, he'll be like, "WHAT? you chose this lame date for me?! no one wants to celebrate anything on JANUARY 2nd!"

see what i mean? it's gonna get ugly.

but for now i will just enjoy the simplicity of him being four and not caring (again) that there was no birthday party involved.

i love this kid. from the funny stuff he says to make me laugh and our nightly recital of whitney houston and kenny loggins (yes, still), this kid is the greatest. i love him and i am so glad every day that he is my little boy.

(this post is four days late because my excess calorie/sugar withdrawal symptoms had rendered me useless the past few days. see? poor guy.)
