the summer's beginning to give up her fight

all summer long i wondered, "when does it start cooling down?  i can't remember!"

well, today was THE day.  the weather just... changed.  it was a cool 60 degrees this morning and later when i stepped outside, i wasn't hit by a wall of humidity and heat.

the kids and i went outside and played in the backyard for hours.  after months of not going outside (for the sake of "going outside") i had forgotten exactly how good for the soul being outdoors can be.  i started composing poetry in my head as i gazed at the blue sky.  so did sawyer.

and then we closed out the evening by barbecuing hamburgers and eating on the lanai.

and so, next year when i'm wondering how much more heat i can handle, here it is... documentation. october 20th.

and just as you're getting into the 60s we're getting into "freaking cold." i'll be dreaming of florida for the next 5-6 months.

So... I'm a stalker. Your mom may have told you about my stalkiness as I am only slightly less creepy than a regular stalker because I know her and a few of your friends here in Salinas. I first saw your blog by following a comment you made on someone else's blog and as I read some of your posts, I kept thinking, "yeah, me too." Anyway, now here you go using an Indigo Girls' line as a blog title and I felt like I had to say something like "man, I love that song" or "remember when we saw them at Wolf Mountain and then a week later drove to Colorado to see them again?"... but, right... we've never met.

Anyway, there you go. I'm Stephanie, by the way... and glad to meet you.
