first: bright house lights. and wrapping lights around a palm tree is a must. i wanted to go higher into the tops of the tree but josh wasn't willing to risk his life. whatevs. and although you can't tell in this picture we pretty much light up the whole block.

second: a kitschy mini pink feather tree for the girls' room. how could i resist?

third: colorful handmade paper ornaments for the tree. (tell me they look great because my back is killing me from all the crafting and i want to know it was worth it.) originally i wanted to have oranges and flamingoes on the tree, but i figured that was too literal. like i said, i am ready to embrace my new lifestyle.
this is only our first christmas as florida residents so my efforts are meager. but i'm sure that over the years i will improve on my floridian decorating skills. maybe a full-size pink feather christmas tree next year? hmm...

I'm glad we are able to finally see a picture of the front of your house.
i'm going to get you something fabulous and elvis-themed one of these years. and i think it would fit right in. maybe a huge, inflatable lawn ornament? or something perfect to top off your tree... and yeah, i was decorating my front yard yesterday in flip flops too.
just don't start wearing socks and sandals. and fanny packs.
but maybe there are mini fanny pack ornaments!!! yes, that would be ok:)
I highly endorse pink flamingos. You can never go wrong there. I lived in Orlando for a little while and spent Christmas there, we had a string of pink flamingo lights. they were awesome.
I love the crafty tree. Homemade decorations are the best.
Love the palm tree christmas look...I'll trade you!
And my family will get to see it in person!
Dashing through the sand...
my boogie board in hand...
O'er the waves we go...
laughing all the way! Ha ha ha!
lights look great, girls room is cute and I'm diggin the homemade touch on the tree. But I am a bit disappointed you didn't deck the halls with pink flamingos.
nice work robin. Why to embrace where you are.
