no changing leaves here

for the past two months, the only "going outside" we've done is from the car to the house/target/ymca/school/church and then back to the car again. and even that can be a huge sweatfest. but with the fall comes "cooler" weather and less-suffocating humidity so we ventured outside. for longer than five seconds! on a 1.5 mile walk!

parker was the official leader of the walk. . . considering that she had her running shorts, a headband, and her nikes on by nine o'clock in the morning in anticipation of our afternoon outing. (see? it was a big deal. playing inside for two months will do that to a kid.) she was so excited all day. so per her request, we walked to her school and back.

macy maintained her reputation as our "stop, drop, and mope" kid. . .

but then you say, "hey macy! look! flowers!" and just like that she's our "dr. jekyl and mr. hyde" kid. . .

sawyer was designated the "king of the walk". . .

and ollie fell down hard and threw people's pretty, white, decorative rocks into the street.

when we got home everyone was red-cheeked and sweating buckets, so we're not out of the hot-weather woods yet, but it was great to get out and let the kids pound the pavement. literally. ollie's head made a loud "thunk" when he fell down.

good times florida. good times. let me know when it's 75 degrees and maybe we'll come out again.

I love this post. Poor Ollie. Parker is so grown up, Sawyer IS the king, and Macy is Macy. Can't wait to get there and take a walk with all of you.

I'm right there with you. I'm so over the heat, finally down in the 90s here, happy October.

I laughed at the pig-head lord of flies reference. Witty. And the sweat-fest.

We go into Summertime hybernation here too. I totally know the feeling of loving to breathe fresh air again. Enjoy!!

Your blog is delightful. I like it. :)
And anyone who references Lord of the Flies in a blog post gets bonus points just on principle.

Or Brian Regan... him too. Bonus points. Either way, you win something.
