seven years

recently i was watching old videos from college where there was a brief shot of me and josh (while we were engaged), sitting on the floor in the shanty. it was so weird for me to see the seven-years-ago us for that quick moment, just sitting and talking. it was honestly like seeing two different people. and in many ways, we are two completely different people. but we have changed together.

the seven plus years between that moment on the video and now have brought us: a wedding, a honeymoon, four children, four moves, one job, one losing of a job, one year of unemployment, two years of student-life, many pounds gained and lost (for me at least), and many, many episodes of 24 watched. plus the bending, changing, and stretching of our relationship as we have grown from those first moments on a blind date to where we are now.

(these are pictures from the night he proposed to me. at a roller-skating rink. yes, a roller-skating rink. we returned to the site of our blind date for a fun evening with friends and he popped the question during the snowball skate with dashboard playing in the background. i had no idea it was coming.)

i knew when i married josh that i was marrying a near-perfect man. and he has never let me down. i'm sure i've had many moments of disappointing him, but he has always been the best husband a girl could ask for.

thanks, josh for the past seven years. i'm excited for what's next. . .

i love you.

Robin,
Happy anniversary! You're the best. Love you so much. Marrying you was the best decision I ever made (and will ever make). Looking forward to the next 7 years and the rest of eternity to spend with you.

1. remember when the real engagement ring wasn't ready, so i had to run to albertson's to buy a cheesy ring from the .25 vending machine?

2. remember how you had a hoodie tied around your waist when josh proposed? that. is. so. cool.

I am a "closet" roller skater so I really approve Josh's choice there. Ok so there is no real secret to my love for roller skating, it just doesn't seem to come up in conversations very often. AND as far as Lucy is concerned she would agree that Josh is a near-perfect man and might be a little jealous you got to him first :). AND I am the third child. I'm sure I was forgotten a lot. But I'm also still pretty laid back.
