to say that my trip to florida was productive would be an understatement...
i got everything done that i was sent there to do. and much much more.
i went there simply to familiarize myself with the area, not expecting to find a house or anything. moving to florida is clearly meant to be, because everything just fell into place.
i found a house to rent that:
- was the house i looked at first
- is pretty dang cute and in a wonderful neighborhood
- is ready for us when we need it... late july
- is five miles from josh's office
- is less than a mile from parker's school
- is less than a mile from macy's preschool
- is less than a mile from our church building
- is two miles from the beach
we met all the right people:
- we had the most wonderful agent help us. her advice and help was invaluable.
- walking up to parker's new school, a super nice teacher let us in and showed us around.
- per our agent's recommendation, we found the perfect preschool for macy. when we went to check it out we were greeted by the director and she showed us around... and there's a spot available!
- everywhere we went people told us how much they loved living in boca... and that parker's future school is the best.
- everyone seemed to have a connection to cornell. from the owner of the house (a cornell grad) to the quilt lady at the antique mall (whose husband was a cornell grad).
boca raton is beautiful and i really think we're gonna love it. i've never seen anyplace like it... it's another planet compared to ithaca. and now that i've seen it and we have a place to live i'm really starting to get excited...
my mom met me in florida and she (and her house-finding karma) was such a help. thanks mom!
plus, did you know chris carrabba (my favorite) is from boca raton? that's right. maybe i'll have a sighting...
