as kids, did you and your siblings go through phases where you would watch the same movie every day, perhaps even multiple times a day if you were so lucky?
here is a small sampling of the movies i remember my brothers and i being addicted to during the days of our youth. . .
first off, "the chipmunk adventure". remember? the chipmunks get involved in some balloon race with that crazy looking lady and that crazy looking guy and somehow they end up in the amazon or something and they're almost about to be burnt at the stake but they save themselves by singing "tootie fruity"? anyone? anyone?

another favorite was "the jetsons movie". all i remember is the daughter, judy (voiced by tiffany, teen star extraordinaire!) falls for some famous pop star and they sing a cheesy song together... maybe at a mall? it's been a while. my memory is hazy.

and who knows why, but we were obsessed with "watcher in the woods". kind of a strange movie to love and watch repeatedly, especially as kids, but for some reason we really dug scary bette davis.

I got the Chipmunk Adventure at a garage sale and my girls like to watch it. I remember "Watcher in the Woods" and "Flight of the Navigator"...good times.
lisa and i watched free willy 24 days in a row after getting it for christmas one year. actually, we watched it twice on christmas day.
and oh, up with people! i LOVED up with people! my aunt was in up with people, actually. i can get craig an autographed record, i am sure.
Well let's see, where do I start? For me it was Saturday Matinees at the theater. I know what your thinking that TV had not been invented yet, but I am not quite that old. How about the Sound of Music every Saturday for two months in a row, or the animated musical Gay 'Purr-ee' (1962) voiced by Judy Garland and Robert Goulet (Your kids would love to watch this one still), or Disney's Toby Tyler, or Journey To The Center of The Earth, or later on the musical Les Miserables (13 times). I remember the original Flinstones and The Jetsons on TV. The Flinstones was the first prime time (meaning airing between 6:30 and 10pm)animated series in TV history, around 1962 I believe. The Jetsons were next. And so on and so on. Love Papa
We still have the Up With People video. Maybe we'll all watch when you get here in July. Love Papa
