oh, and besides running, we had a lot of fun.

friday morning, brooke, kelli, and i took off for long island. it was the beginning of a very fun girls weekend. (which just happened to include running a half marathon.) we picked up jordan friday night, straight off the ferry from connecticut, enjoyed carb-ing up and got to bed nice and late.
after the race on saturday and after soaking our legs in the hotel hot tub, we decided to head off to new york city. that's right, four exhausted girls, super sore from the race hopped on the train in ronkonkama (yes, there's such a place) at 5:40 and went into the city.
let me explain the pain. well, i can't even explain the pain. oh, the pain! my legs were completely mad at me for what i put them through and they attacked with a vengeance. i could not bend my knees. there was so much pain. . . from the bottoms of my feet, up through my ankles, excruciating in my calves, quads, and hamstrings. (i felt like the tin man before dorothy oils him up.) here i was in the city that never sleeps walking the speed of a one-year old and a good ten feet behind the rest of my group. i couldn't go up stairs, i couldn't go down stairs, i couldn't get in and out of chairs . . . it was painfully hilarious.
anyway, back to the fun part. . . we thought it would be fun to go to serendipity (a new york must) and get a delicious treat. we put our names in at 8:00 and were finally seated at 10:00, after shopping and eating dinner at another new york must, the california pizza kitchen.
so, serendipity. good stuff. but beware, there's an $8 per person spending minimum. (and jordan doesn't like to be told what to do). but we enjoyed our frrrozen hot chocolate with all the other tourists.

so much fun. i love my friends. and i love new york. and i love (?) running. i love running so much that i'm not gonna do it again until spring. and that's the truth.

oh, and did you know i was also at a jason mraz concert that weekend? yep, it's true.

i'm so jealous you got to go to SERENDIPITY...mainly cuz that's my favorite romantic comedy and i've always wanted to go there.

p.s. aubry's blog is hilarious.

Wow Robin! You are even more amazing than I thought! Who knew you could be in two places at once?! Much less on the EAST and WEST coast at the same time! You really are super woman! This really makes my "I'm too tired 'cause I'm pregnant excuse" invalid!

i'm so over being bothered when people tell me what to do. i'll drink 20 of those frozen hot chocolates just to prove it...those were so good. by the way i'm stealing your post...it's the best. you really should just start advertising on this blog of yours and then you can be rich enough to not have to wear shoes, and no one can say anything about it because you're rich. do it.
