today we were driving downtown, and i saw that there is now an urban outfitters. i don't know how something like this could have happened without my knowing it! i gasped, put my hand on josh's shoulder, bowed my head and had a moment of silence, for i knew i would not be frequenting that establishment. i.e. lack of funds, plus, they're not known for maternity clothes. i told him i just wanted to go in and walk around. (besides, a pregnant gal can look at hats, shoes, and bags, right?) he said that would just depress me. he's right, but i will definitely find myself there sometime next week . . .
i remember a time (recently) when i was not a texter. (i shudder even using that word, "text".) but i became one (thanks brooke) and now i cannot be stopped. and it doesn't help that my awesome new phone makes it so easy. anyway, i am so glad i joined the youth of america in their texting obsession because otherwise, i would have missed out on some very important conversations, random bits of information, and other useful knowledge. for example:
- (craig to me) "oh my goodness, the food court in the new m.c. is so huge and beautiful. i'm gonna take a picture of it and blog about it."
- (aubry to me) "check my blog now. i just blogged about you."
- (craig to me, from disneyland) "i'm just about to get on calfornia screamin' and i'm thinking of you!" jerk.
- (me to aubry, brooke, and craig) "oh my gosh! did you hear that ellen is the new judge on american idol?!"
- (me to lara) "did you watch the premiere of rachel zoe last night? i die."
- (emily to me) "i just heard a counting crows song on the radio and i thought of you."
- (me to emily) "i'm at the gap right now and they're playing 'funkytown' and i thought of you."
the other day the kids were especially rotten during our trip to the grocery store. when we were in the car i said, "wow, you kids were so fun in there!"
parker, (knowing that this was not the case due to my actions and words while in the store) said, "why did you say that?"
to which i replied, "i was being sarcastic."
"what's sarcastic?" she innocently asked.
i explained that it's when you say something but you don't really mean what you're saying.
so? i taught my daughter what sarcasm is. does that make me a bad mom?
oliver is still pushing over all the same-size-or-littler-than-him kids whenever we are in a big group of children . . . which is, well, always. it's kinda my life. so i'm forced to yell out a warning when people see us coming to play "oliver the terror is coming!" and then hover around him to protect the innocent. oh, and he has his favorites he picks on. to eli and dylan, i am sorry.

steven has been trying to teach evan about sarcasm for years and he still doesn't get it. due to steve's constant use of sarcasm i fear evan may not get his dad until this concept is understood. maybe they should start teaching it in kindergarten :D
let's not forget the text message convos we've had in the past - hours of convo - about gay adam lambert and gay brandon from sytycd.
not sure if tone translates correctly via text message (caps are all we've got - no bold, no italics) but hopefully you were picking up what i was putting down.
i really just said that.
and.
ithaca has an u.o.? small town? odd. hippy town? totally understandable.

um, i am obsessed with rachel zoe, and housewives. i wish we were neighbors and could watch together.

But he was so sweet and nice to Allison, even though she had it out for him. She would not stop pushing the poor bigger than her guy and all he did was try to walk away. He's maturing before our very eyes.
At least it's an Urban Outfitters and not an Anthropologie. Luckily our closest one is an hour away. Twice the beauty, but 3 times the price. Let's keep the heartache at bay please. Whenever I go I have to ask myself, "are you trying to punish me?"
