this is a good one . . .

josh's ethnicity is a topic that gets brought up a lot. the question "where is josh from?" gets asked frequently. i've been with groups of friends and one will ask, "what is josh? italian? mexican?" and then everyone else will chime in, "yeah, i was gonna ask that, too. is he middle-eastern?" but no, he's none of those exotic things. he's white. but he sure doesn't look like it.

so when josh had came home with this story, i knew i had to share it.

he was in a meeting with a few classmates, one of his professors, and an entrepreneur-in-residence, who was giving a presentation about development opportunities. apparently, the entrepreneur-in-residence made it known that he was jewish. during his presentation he brought up the word "sheckels" and looked around the room to see whether anyone else knew what he was talking about. when he looked at josh he said to him, "yeah, you know what I'm talking about." (josh has lived in israel for a few months, but there was no way for the entrepreneur to know that). josh had a feeling he knew what the man was thinking, but just kept it to himself. but then, when josh answered another question correctly about the church generally holding a prime location in most towns, the professor said, "that's right. i expect that coming from a jew." (of course this wasn't said in a derogatory manner.) josh thought that was really funny and replied, "actually, i'm not jewish." everyone got a good laugh out of that one. josh, our mormon jew.

you should just make up an ethnicity for him "italimexiaramericew" rolls off the tongue. hehehe. reminds me of the seinfeld episode where elaine thinks she's dating a black guy and he thinks elaine is hispanic and then of course they both find out they are white and break up. good times.

so robin, as i was reading this one about josh, brady was sitting about 5 feet behind me, and looked up to see what i was doing. "whats that?" he asked, "is that barack obama?" not knowing this was all about josh's mystery ethnicity, i thought that was pretty funny. then he got up to look closer and was like, "oh, that's josh, don't tell them i said that.." haha, in his defense, he was sitting pretty far away! but who knows? a mormon jewish president might be just what this country needs!

That is too funny! It's really a blessing if you think about it, I mean if Josh ever decided to be an actor think of all the parts he could play. I love the little Parker quotes! That girl needs to do stand-up! You have such a cute family.
