an interview with parker

with everything going on, i thought it was time for another parker interview!  (i should mention, parker is starting pre-kindergarten, so that's the school she's talking about. . . more about her first day of school in the next post . . .)

me: "parker, do you like new york?"

parker:  "uh-huh!"

me:  "what's your favorite thing about new york?"

parker:  "i like the trees in the forest cause they make it pretty."

me:  "have you been making friends?"

parker:  "um, yeah!"

me:  "who are some of your friends?"

parker:  "emma, bailey, hannah, tyler, kellen, halle . . . are owen and lucia my friends?  eric, ramona and sasha."

me:  "what's been your favorite thing to do with your friends?"

parker:  "remember when i was riding hannah's bike?  we were taking turns. . . hannah, parker, hannah, parker . . . but i couldn't pedal?  uh-huh."

me:  "are you excited for school?"

parker:  "uh-huh!  free kindergarten!"  (pre-kindergarten)

me:  "who's your teacher?"

parker:  (shrugs)

me:  "kelly, remember?"

parker:  "that's a hard name to remember."

me:  "what are you excited about?"

parker:  "cause i get to ride the bus to school and ride it back from school."

me:  "why are you excited to ride the bus?"

parker:  "because it's fun!  and it's yellow, i like yellow.  that's a color i like.  and there's friends on there like emma and bailey and tyler."

me:  "what are we going to get when we go school shopping?"

parker:  "tennis shoes, panties, jeans, a shirt, socks . . ."

me:  "what's the most exciting thing you're going to get?"

parker:  (excitedly)  "a big backpack!"

me:  "what do you want for your special first-day-of-school dinner?"

parker:  (super excited)  " brown rice!!"

me:  "okay.  brown rice and what else?"

parker:  "pizza!"

me:  "what are you looking forward to about living in new york?"

parker:  "when it's snowing we're gonna go down the hill.  daddy's gonna pull us up the hill and push us down the hill and he'll let go and it's whoa!  it's fast!"

me:  "what do you miss about california?"

parker:  "brooklyn, grammy, papa dave, nana, papa jim, buddy . . ."
