parker's birthday: party two

friday was parker's actual birthday. (i like to get the party and everything out of the way so i can actually enjoy her birthday day. . .) in true family-tradition style, we went to the big trees! it's our favorite family outing and it has been for years. we went there as a family all the time when i was growing up.

just for fun, here's a picture circa 1983 in the same spot we take pictures now.

it was super hot there in the santa cruz mountains (100 degress plus!) so the river was especially inviting. parker had been looking forward to "going in the water at the big trees" for a long time and it really was fun. it's the perfect place. we love it there.
when we got home, the family party was ready to start! grammy had the backyard so cute for pizza, presents, and cupcakes.
it was a great day and parker was really excited about turning four.

now i just have to get excited about my first baby turning four . . .
