it was held at lake san antonio, about and hour and a half south of salinas, with thousands and thousands of athletes and spectators. it was a huge deal. i have never seen so many effortlessly-beautiful, exercise-for-fun types. it was crazy. i kept thinking, "all these people are crazy! who would want to do a triathlon?" then i'd look at josh and i'd think, "oh, he would."
saturday was a long day for both josh and parker. triathlons are not really a specatator sport. especially when you're three. but she hung in there and we saw him at the very end (after about eight hours). josh said it was really brutal (swim 1.2 miles, bike 56 miles, run 13.1 miles) on such a hilly course, but he made it to the finish line and we were very proud of him!
f.y.i. that's face paint on parker's face. she wasn't bleeding. and she made that sign herself!
