yes we're that family

it was the first day of summer break, and in my desperation to appease the "what are we going to do?" questions, and before i could even think about what i was saying, i said "do you want to tie-dye shirts?"  clearly, an activity such as tie-dying goes against my inclination to be lazy.

but once the words escaped my mouth, there was no turning back.  i was able to keep putting it off ("let's go get the shirts"... "no more time today"... "i still have to go get the dye"... "let's wait till daddy can help"... "there's no more time today"... "i need to have gloves"... "it's raining".... "there's no more time today"... "let's wait till daddy can help"...)  but finally, i could postpone it no more and we did it.  and it was fun!  it really was! ( notice my exclamation point usage.  so you know i'm serious.)  granted, i did most of it (i'm a little controlling i guess), but the kids had fun picking their designs and picking their colors.

so, we matched on the fourth of july.  perfect.  josh was not so enthusiastic, but when we got to the ward breakfast he really liked all the attention.

and just a little tip:  make sure you are certain you know whose shirt is whose before you start dying.  or you will end up with a little boy with some pink on his shirt and a girl who is angry because her shirt is all blue.  (otherwise known as "the great oliver and parker shirt mix-up of 2011".)

i used this for help

You really are a fun mom. I'm not sure I would even want to attempt this. And are those chigger bites I see on the legs? I really, really don't miss the bugs of Florida (I lived there for 8 months).
