seven. i don't know what is happening, but it appears that i have been a mother for seven years. i am in disbelief that parker is old enough to lose teeth, read chapter books, and enjoy "hello dolly".
seven years ago i jumped off a cliff (because that is literally what it felt like) called "life as i knew it" and landed in a strange new land called "take it one day at a time, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad, but mostly it's crazy".
seven years ago i felt for the first time the most amazingly scary sense of responsibility that has not left the forefront of my thoughts since.
seven years of raising an amazing daughter who challenges me in every way and has taught me what it means to be selfless.
happy birthday to my beautiful, talented, intelligent, and sassy little girl. i love you.

7. wow. here's to daughters that challenges us in every way. every single way.
Happy Birthday Parker! There's no way you're really seven, NO way. I knew you when you were that tiny and wasn't all that long ago...and now I'm sounding really old.
Be nice to your mom - even if she has sticky up hair.
um...holy freaking crap that's a cute picture. happy birthday parker. you're mom is awesome.
sweet birthday post.
good job for jumping off that cliff. teach me how?! i'm afraid of heights.
"is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
I don't remember growing older, when did they? When did she grow to be a beauty, when did he grow to be so tall, Wasn't it yesterday, they were small. Sunrise, Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset, quickly fly the years. One season following another, laden with happiness, and tears!
Happy birthday precious Parker. And as for her Mom, well, she is pretty precious too.
Happy Birthday Parker! What an amazing little girl ... keep up the good (and hard) work Robin.
i love that photo! parker is one CUTE girl! gets it from her momma, obv.
Wonderful post Robin. Parker is growing up so fast. Don't worry...it gets harder...I mean....easier.
She is amazing. Just like her mother.
wow. that first photo is amazing. simply amazing. Happy birthday parker!
if only my babies had hair like that...
happy birthday miss parker!
Babies. Buh. Scared. But you look AMAZING in that pic.
sweet, sweet parker! oh happy birthday to her! i can't believe it was seven years ago that i visited you in that amazing house around the corner from your parents' in salinas. you were nursing her every 2 hours for an hour. and you were still up to being my tour guide...
i admire you so much, robin...in so many ways. i especially admire you as a mother...a role that overwhelms me...but looking at you, and the joy you find in it (and your honesty about its craziness is always appreciated!) is encouraging and exciting.
that little parker is one lucky girl to have josh and robin for parents.
when we talked on the phone while you were in the hospital, i knew you'd love her forever because you told me it looked like her hair had been kissed by the sun. as in - she came from the womb with highlights.
those are important bonding deets.
{my word verifitcation is flemen. weird?}
What a lovely picture! I hope her birthday was wonderful!
And Papa Dave, I'm positive you and my dad would truly be the best of friends. (Evidence: The 10 songs you listed in one of Robin's music posts, and here, quoting Fiddler on the Roof.)
