one negative, one positive

one negative:

in the entire city of boca raton there is not one shopping cart with the ever-important tray thingy under the cart. how in the world is a mother of four supposed to go shopping without that? my cart is full of kids! where am i supposed to put my groceries/stuff?

after having sawyer, my shopping trips to wegman's (sigh) got tricky, but not impossible. i could do my weekly shopping with oliver and macy in the cart car, sawyer in the cart, and the groceries stuffed around sawyer's car seat and on the tray under the cart. (and every week after i checked out and my bagged groceries had filled another cart, i wondered how i had fit all that in my cart.)

same for target. not a problem with that handy under-the-cart tray.

but no, not here in fancy pants boca. i had to go to the store the other day with the boys and i left after ten minutes fuming because i couldn't put anything in the cart because it didn't have that tray. and to add insult to injury, the target carts here are a good 25% smaller than any other target cart in the universe. i mean, good luck if you have to buy diapers and paper towels.

i feel like it's a city ordinance or something that stores cannot have the tray underneath the cart as to disuade mothers with more than one child from going out in public.

one positive:

i like the ymca here. i go every day and they watch my kids for me.

Uh that is crazy! I have never EVER been shopping where the cart did not have the tray. Craziness.

when i go shopping with four, Evan pushes another cart behind me for all the groceries/stuff. It's the only way it will all fit! Thank goodness for 6 year olds!
