he reigns in terror!

i don't know what has happened to my sweet little man, but we cannot go anywhere with him anymore. eating out? forget it. josh has sworn to never do it again due to the forks thrown, drinks forcefully spilled, loud screaming, and food slinging.
and i have taken him to target for the last time. is nothing sacred? target... one of my true loves and he has taken that away from me. my last attempt at this activity that used to be a joy for all involved (fruit snacks, popcorn, or puppy crackers for the kids, a diet coke fountain drink for me) ended in pandomonium. sawyer was screaming (which was rare), the girls were running around the check out area, and oliver was tucked under my left arm weeping and screaming "walk by you! walk by you!" (which is his mantra when he wants me to put him down) while i unloaded the cart with the other arm.
now i have to go in the evening when all i want to do is catch up on the dvr. his new attitude is majorly infringing on my me time.
i also have to figure out when to go to the grocery store without him. last time i took him with me he threw two ears of corn across the produce section.
oliver, i love you, but i kind of wish you were starting school too . . .

Welcome to the wonderful world of little boys!! Brayden used to scream SO LOUD and LONG that people would just stare and I had to leave the store. The only thing that worked was him getting older and giving him suckers while I shopped (short trips as suckers can go really fast!). Once he could talk it got a little better but still. . .
Good Luck!
Ugh...I don't want to find happiness in your struggles, but I'm glad to know that other peoples kids can be crazy too and it's not just mine! (I think he and Kendalynn are only a month apart or so?) When you figure out how to deal with crazy moments like those let me know!!
I totally feel for you Robin, even though I only have three right now instead of four. I hit the "I can no longer go grocery shopping, target shopping, any kind of shopping..." this summer when the kids were with me all the time and we were oh so very far from the nearest Wegman's and W Kids. Don't you just love it when complete strangers stare at you going through the whole store with kids screaming, and you are trying hard to keep it together and not just scream with them, or at least that is what happens sometimes when we go out... Grrr. I wish I could just wear a shirt "Yes, I know I have my hands full..."
I agree, it's completely a guy thing. My boys and most men I know hate to shop and I have seen Josh react much like Ollie when I make him shop with me. Today whilst shopping, Matthew bit McKay so hard that it left a welt (I found out after I bought McKay a new hot wheel to stop his screaming & crying that it was a provoked bite - McKay said he had been "just sucking" on Matthew's shoulder). Anyway, they were fighting the whole entire hour I shopped and I had at least 3 people tell me and several more give me the "you have your hands full" look. I am totally buying the t-shirt.
precisely why kindergarten could not start soon enough for connor. oh, i love him. but it is time.
even if you say he is naughty i still want ollie to be my boyfriend (or meg's!) cause he is so darned cute!
