we have a beach towel on our couch . . .

. . . just in case someone barfs.

the past two days have had us in the throes of barfiness. it started with oliver and like dominoes it spread to me, macy, and josh.

but here are my thoughts about barf. . . i've always prided myself on the fact that my kids do not throw up. they really don't. so when it does happen, it scares me half to death. seriously, i started to cry when macy was throwing up late the other night. (well, she's also the one who doesn't eat A THING, so throwing up whatever precious calories she has consumed is never a good thing.) and oh my, when ollie was throwing up, i seriously freaked out. like i said, i'm new to this, so it was really scary to see this never-ending supply of disgustingness come out of his mouth.

is this post grossing you out? it's kinda making me a little woozy.

but i'm not done. my thoughts on barf continue . . .

oliver threw up all over my cheap $5 junkyard fake leather chair which was no big deal, but it just got me wondering what in the world people do when kids throw up on real furniture? is it ever the same? would you ever sit in that spot and not think about it?

this is good stuff. i know.

and fyi, while writing this charming post, parker and oliver were conjuring up trouble that i chose to ignore. the trouble turned out to be parker dressing up oliver in a series of outfits derived from her and macy's clothes. what can i say? we've done nothing for two days straight. it does things to you.

are my blurry pictures starting to bug you? they're starting to bug me. i'm dealing with a dinosaur of a camera. i'm talking, 3.2 megapixels. cry for me.

this post has really jumped track hasn't it?

p.s. don't you love the new blog look? i'm totally in love with it. i made a new friend through the blog world and she created the new header and helped me with the sidebar. she put up with a lot from me. it turns out that i'm quite picky. who knew? thanks jenna!

I'm so sorry!!! The barfs with one bathroom and lacking your own w/d is no joke. Plus a newborn on top of it, you're a saint.
Now when anyone gets sick I dare not even complain because we can at least go to separate bathrooms and immediately throw anything nasty in the washer without setting foot outside our home. (But actually I'm kind of lying because we don't really seem to ever get sick here in Arizona, sell that one to Josh.)

I'm so sorry you are all sick, BUT I am really glad it is THIS week, not next. I'm not sure if that being my 1st thought makes me a good friend or a bad one.

I wish I lived close and could help. I know, next week I'll take Sawyer and you can have a nap! Win, win.

you are funny. hysterical, actually. i loved this random, jump from one thought to another post. it made me miss you. real bad. and then i remembered i will see you in 11 days. and my tears of sadness turned into tears of joy! i should probably warn travis one more time of the screaming that might happen . . .

barf puts me in panic mode too, though i could not imagine what that much barf would do to a post-partum self with a newborn. i'd seriously be sucking my thumb in a corner somewhere begging my mom to come take care of us! as for barf and real furniture, um yeah, justin barfed a few weeks ago on our nice couch and we pretty much put water and febreze on it. yep, i know, makes you want to come over!

Dang Oliver is too cute!

Amazingly enough, this barfy post doesn't bother me at all. We're quite in the barf know around here. We all handle it quite gracefully actually...er I guess that's a good thing.

As sorry as I am that you're all sick (and hopefully feeling better by now) you're situation did provide some good blogging material...quite the laugh.

Love your blog's new look!

no you will never look at your furniture the same.
no matter what i can always 'smell' it
even months later.
that is a smell your brain remembers and re creates.

forever.

we MUST be friends - remember when i blogged about throwing up? it was a 5w wednes question...

i think throwing up is such a kid thing. grown ups don't throw up much... at least the normal ones don't.

i haven't thrown up since the 2002 winter olympics. that's 8 years and counting.

this post reminded me of ANOTHER bodily function you like. and it reminded me how you measured and then PROUDLY showed off the results of that function.
