parker had been talking about the first day of spring for forever. she wrote it on the calendar, counted down the days, and talked about it with so much excitement. it was a huge deal for her, to say the least.
so, in the tradition of the "first day of fall fun family food fest", parker and i planned the "first day of spring salsa soiree". (okay, so i admit... at first i was mistakingly calling it the "spring solstice salsa soiree" before i remembered that it's the equinox, not the solstice. sheesh, you'd think i'd be more brushed up on my knowledge of the position of the earth's axis.)
we changed the name ("first day of spring salsa soiree" had enough alliteration to satisfy my picky client), and parker declared what we would eat... all kinds of tortilla chips, lots of different salsas, and tacos.
that's right, check out our fancy party.
it's fun to celebrate the seasons. especially because i grew up in california and didn't know fall from spring . . .
