all my bags are packed . . .

. . . my membranes are stripped . . .
. . . can't wait till i can walk and not limp . . .

(sing it john denver style. it has kind of a delightful ring to it, doesn't it?)

i am all scheduled to go in tomorrow morning to be induced. i love it. i am a big fan of the wonderful world of inducing. (if you're not, i'm sorry. we can have different opinions, right?)

the only problem is that the hospital does reserve the right to send you home if they are too swamped with legitimate labors. in which case, i will return home tomorrow with my tail between my legs to some very disappointed little kids. (the hospital tried to send us home when i went in to be induced with macy, and it was horrible. we refused to leave and they couldn't make us. so there.)

i had my last day today of life as i know it. all day i had thoughts like, "this is my last day ever with a pregnant belly", and "this is the last day i'll ever be the mother of three", and "this is the last time i will ever eat brownie-mint ice cream without guilt".

and today was the last day of oliver being my baby.

and i finally looked at the scale when they weighed me yesterday at my final appointment. and it was good, friends. it was good. i'll just say this, i have a lot of work ahead of me. . . like 60 pounds of work.

so, here i go. yikes. it's scary when you know exactly what you're about to do . . .

sorry aubry. i had to use this picture again.

Go Robin! Good luck with tomorrow! Push really hard and be done! Also, good luck with the returning to pre-pregnancy. I'm still working at that and it sucks! Matter of fact, I'm hungry for some chocolate right now.

Also, my brother and sis are running the UT Ragnar in June. I was almost sucked in, but when they registered I wasn't sure we'd be in UT. Or that was my excuse anyway. I'm sure I'll be around to cheer. It would be fun to see you again and meet your new babe.

Good luck again. Sleep well! HA!

Good luck! I'll be waiting to see pictures!

P.S. Not a fan of inducing (Mostly because I didn't get a break between contractions and I didn't get an epidural so could feel it)! Yuck! But to each his own

"My membranes are stripped." I remember the first time the nurses asked Andrea if she wanted them to "strip her membranes" and I was like, "What the hell are they talking about?" After it was all said and done, it made sense.

Good luck! And good luck Josh!

Robin,
Got the news from Josh. :( Looks like a few more days of getting to eat whatever you want! :) Don't hate me for being positive - I know I'll be just as miserable when I'm in your shoes in July!
Good luck soon,
Joy

i love a good shout out... even when you use it against me.

and, um... sorry your worst dreams came true... but remember, 02.20 or 02.22 would make excellent birthdays!

I agree with Aubry; 02.22 would be a great day for a birthday. I almost had Samuel on the 22nd, but he held out until the 23rd. 22 is my favorite number and the 22nd is Washington's birthday. Just trying to look at the positive here.

ugh, sorry they sent you home, rob!

but i agree with your friend up there . . . bring on a couple more bowls of guilt free ice cream and honey nut cheerios! wahoo! shoot, i think i will go eat a bowl of cereal in honor of you right now.

much love to you and that little squish in your belly.

aubry. said...

... and i'll handle the ice cream bit. cindy's got the cereal covered, but i'm not fitting into a wedding dress anytime soon... so i'll take one for the team and tackle the ice cream.

just to make sure we've got this covered, i'm going to go ahead and eat half a pan of brownies in your honor rob.

better luck next time!

oh, and i hated that song of yours. john denver is groaning in his grave.
