what do you think when you see this picture?

. . . children sharing and playing together?
. . . a beautiful moment of sibling harmony?
right?

wrong.

any parent knows this kind of situation is a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode. sure they played well together for 10 minutes, but i was hovering over them just waiting to extinguish the first sign of discord hoping to keep the peace for just a little longer.

it's a beautiful thing when they all play together. beautiful. but too bad those moments don't last. and just as i was afraid of, this serene moment ended in macy tearing the tracks apart, parker yelling, "i'm so mad at her!", and oliver throwing a tantrum.

*sigh* I know exactly how you feel. Here's hoping we can both enjoy the harmony for however many minutes (seconds?) it lasts.

I've never seen Ollie throwing a tantrum. Not my sweet Ollie.

Be grateful for the 10 minutes of peace, but the remaining moments are teaching times. They need to learn the art of peacemaking themselves and will do so with the guidance and love you are giving them. Love Dad

I was going to say, "no kidding! don't you hate that? ugh." and then I read your dad's comment. he is wise!

you're such a mom... for the 4,756,384th time.

you're still pretty cool, though.

oh i miss lara! you probably DO have secret cubbies stowed away somewhere. and there's probably frosted halloween brownies in there. that's what i would put in a secret cubbie, accleast.

oh and about this post, hmmm... well, i bet that's fun. i'm working on a new product that should be on the shelves by christmas time. it's called "the boo box" - kinda like in the "Hook" movie. with the same terror-inspiring association for children everywhere. see, the kiddos misbehave and you put 'em in the boo box. after a while, you'll only have to mention it and sudden an angelic peace will instantly pervade your home. oh yeah. put the boo box on your wish list, cause it's gonna be awesome.

and i'm am TOTALLY posting this in all its lengthy glory. kinda like when i call you and leave you gloriously long voice messages. ahhh yeeeeah!!!

Someday, when your house is bigger, you'll say..."why are they being so quiet?". Then you will hear the yelling, just when you think that.
