last night i heard a song in a movie and i immediately fell in love with it. it was one of those songs that has you mesmerized and kind of takes you to a happy place. i thought at first it was damien rice, but i knew it wasn't. anyway, my life could not go on until i knew who sang it. after a google search i found it was from a band called "bright eyes". not knowing much about music anymore (i used to, i swear) i immediately texted scott my go-to guy for all things cool. he has all the answers.
this was our text conversation:
me: "have you heard of a band called bright eyes?"
scott: "of course."
me: "of course?! are they great? would i love them? i just heard one of their songs in a movie and i'm convinced it's the world's perfect song."
scott: "was it first day of my life?"
me: "yes! am i late to the party?"
scott: "late pass accepted. yah, good album. i'm wide awake it's morning."
me: "thanks for the late pass. maybe you can help me get hip when you're here." (they're coming this weekend . . . i'm SO excited!)
scott: "ok."
so just like that i was reminded of how uncool i've become and how the rest of the world probably already knows what i don't. hey, don't blame me. i would listen to music all day if i could. however, i have three little reasons why i can't.
if you already know this song just act like you don't and pretend i'm the coolest.

I love it love it love it! so i'm with you on all of the "what's". i'm wondering how many more episodes of "i didn't know i was pregnant" there could possibly be...come on ladies get a clue. The freaky commercial...raleigh and i comment on it every time we see it. jon and kate - wow. we're going to dutch wonderland in PA this weekend and i'm hoping we can catch a glimpse of the drama. miss you guys soooo much!
i'm just getting caught up: I'm so excited you're pregnant! I love that song, and am uncool, too (but I have three reasons to blame, too) and why make another tv show about idiots? really. how much more can this world take?
