. . . to grow out my hair.
i think.
maybe i'm tired of the ridicule i receive from my eldest daughter.
and when i say "grow out", i don't really mean it. it would just be a little bit. baby steps, people. baby steps.
it's not that i don't love my current hairstyle. i really love it, but i also love a little change.
i've been doing the same-ish style for years now, and i don't want to one day end up like those women on those makeover shows saying, "i've had the same hairstyle for twenty years".
so, i have here two examples of hairstyles that i am loving.
the one on the left (seen on this adorable blog) wouldn't be much of a departure from the current me, it would just require a little growing out in the front and wearing my hair "sticking down" (as parker would put it).
the one on the right (which i saw on a host on hgtv) is ADORABLE, but i would have to have a lot of self control and a really good hairstylist (mine is moving, dang it.) and i would demand that exact color too. i love that red.
so, what do you think? should i go for style 1 or style 2
OR
should i stay just the way i am?

I thought it was so funny to read your daughter's quotes on the side after reading this post. I've gotten slack before (from other people's kids) asking why I have boy hair.
I also thought it was funny that you liked my hairstyle! I, too, am trying to grow it out and currently not in love with the hair do. So thank you for the compliment. And for the link.
i vote for the red head on the right. she just says "robin" to me. go for it!
i think #1 is so robin. and did you know you LOOK like #2? you do.
instyle mag just sent me an entire special issue all about hair. ALL ABOUT HAIR! you'd love it.
remember when you colored your hair just like the paul mitchell ad in the, like, july 2001 issue of instyle?
so fashion forward.
i like the sticking down hair in #1. imagine the accessorizing possibilities!
what about style 3: duck butt
I've always loved your hair. I like #2 because you kind of look like her so it's easy for me to picture you this way. Way cute!
Really, Robin? You had to post this today? Did you get my e-mail? And now you make me doubt myself? Sheesh. Thanks a lot.
But really, they are both cute. I do like #1 most. I think number two would be very frustrating to reach. BUT, you are a girl on a mission and I'm the girl at the end of her growing it out rope!
How about cut one color two!
Well, you did say baby steps...so start with number 1 (but color it the VIBRANT amazing red color!!) and then after you get to the point..if you are bored..go for #2! But I like #1 the best!
(i LOVE that gina is here now, with her valuable input)
i also love that second one, but LM might be right as to the growing it out time. after all, she has experience. those of us with waterfall hair don't really know about that. but you asked & i think #2 is aDORable!
p.s. i'm still waiting for you to send me pics of what MY hair should look like. "help! i've had the same hair for 20 yrs!" mmph, been there and done that.
I love the one on the right! It's so you!
Are you coming to GNO tonight???
#2 robin, you can do it. super cute, a good change, and you're right, the color is adorable.
AM I missing something here? You need to get parental permission just to make the change. And then when you do, I would not be so foolish as to suggest either 1 or 2. I would just say, "whatever makes you happy". you can just picture me saying that, can't you my princess. Oh by the way, Happy Mother's Day. We are coming, somehow in the near future!!!. Love Dad
I vote for #1...but of course you would be cute either way.
#1. Red. Accessories.
Love it on you.
Then, next year, #2. White Blonde.
PS I just read a few articles on THE garment. I have a whole new respect for it since SOMEONE took the time to explain it. And I respect the rest for NOT explaining it.
#1 or a bowl cut. either one.
no kidding. my vote is #1.
