what's better than a four-day weekend? a four-day weekend when we actually do something awesome!  last friday we headed down to richmond to visit jamie (josh's sister) and jon (josh's brother) and their families.
the drive was amazing.  it's the peak of fall color around here and driving through new york, pennsylvania, maryland, and virginia was really breathtaking.  josh and i kept commenting how you just can't capture that kind of beauty with a picture. . . but i tried anyway (look for pathetic attempts in the slideshow).
the kids had so much fun playing with their cousins, running around their huge houses (beautiful, beautiful homes!) and josh and i even got to enjoy a night out with jon, amy, travis, and jamie.  so much fun.  i laughed till i cried hearing about jon's post-mission blue knit pants.
on monday we went to williamsburg, va with travis, jamie and their kids, and they were so awesome to go with us to d.c. on our way home on tuesday.  i was so excited to go to d.c. . . . i've been wanting to go back for 15 years.  my history-loving heart beat faster as we approached the city. ahh. . . . i loved it.
it was absolutely wonderful.  thank goodness for columbus day and for josh's wonderful family who entertained us.

What a wonderful trip you all had and I love the pictures. I can't wait to come see you guys and I am hoping that the trees will still be putting on a show.

Photography skills or not, your pictures made me jealous that we sort of miss out on Fall beauty around here. Looks like a super fun trip.
