last night at dinner josh said, "i like this idea, of having a planned meal, all together."
"yeah, it's called dinner" i said.
we got a good laugh about that because we both had actually forgotten what it was like to have me prepare a meal. we were at my parents house all the time for dinner . . . even before we lived with them for a year. and if i was ever on my own (heaven forbid . . . mom's gone on another quilting retreat! what about dinner?!) it was usually eggs or cheese sandwiches for us.
so, while it was so nice to be spoiled by my mom (thanks mom!) for five + years, there's something to be said about planning and preparing dinner for your very own family.

is that what they call it? i think we may have forgotten as well. hmm, i wonder if i should move in with your mom...?
Well, I know of at least one other time you made dinner while in CA. Because my family was the lucky recepients of it at your lovely home. Welcome to the real world of cooking every night. Trust me the novelty wears off. :)
