shipley reunion

last week (july 30- aug. 3) was my super-fun family reunion.  jamie, anita, brooklyn, abby, lori, and grace came straight from anita's reunion in utah, scott and kiana came from arizona, and craig drove up from l.a. where he's working for the summer.  we commenced with a trip to the beach (my family's last beach trip for a while) where we managed NOT to lose anyone (phew.) the beach is always fun, watching the cousins play together, jamie and anita play smashball, watching josh bury the girls in sand.  good stuff.

 the next day, it was back to santa cruz for of course, the big trees!  what else?  i feel like 50% of my blogs are about the big trees.  however, this big trees excursion was special.  we actually got to ride the big steam-engine train that takes you through beautiful santa cruz mountain scenery.  it was a special, special treat.  thanks dad!  

that night (after scotty's historic haircut), super taqueria!  (oh, and josh and i got to see the dark knight finally.  together.)

saturday was a relaxing day, complete with family pictures, games, a puppet show, a barbecue, and the manly men helping us clear out the last of our storage!  what a thrill for those guys.   

sunday, everyone left.  that's always tough.  i hate it when things like that end because nothing makes me happier than being with family.  thanks mom and dad for hosting all of us and i can't wait for us all to be together again.  here's to many more future trips to super taqueria!

note: please enjoy my $1.99 slideshow in the previous post.  photobucket has not been working for me lately.  ugh.  anyways, so, i spent all this time making this slideshow which they kept saying was free, which it was, if you wanted all these ads all over your blog.  well, no thanks, so i had to pay to have no ads, and now i don't even like how it goes to full-screen and all that.  sorry.
