happy father's day

parker, macy, and oliver have the best dad. their dad is amazing. everyday i notice remarkable, little things he does to make their lives fun, peaceful, and happy. he is so creative and finds new ways to get them excited about doing things . . . especially when it's something they don't want to do. i often find myself thinking, "why didn't i think of that?"

one of my favorite things to watch josh do with the girls is "tickles tackles". he sits on the floor and the girls stand at the end of the hallway and take turns running (gaining lots and lots of speed!) toward him and pushing him over with such force that he falls down, taking them with him. the laughter and excitement that this game produces is priceless. "tickles tackles", i believe, will become a tradition. . . and in their futures, be remembered as an example of the kind of childhood joy that their dad gave them.

i always say that josh is the better parent. i often feel inadequate next to his effortless parenting. but i learn from him everyday how to strengthen and improve my relationships with our children. he is so patient, i've never heard him raise his voice. he is energetic, kind, and funny. i know that our kids feel loved and safe. thank you josh. i love you.
